I followed the normal trend in my home town ... I left school and started an apprenticeship and became an electrician in Ford Motor Company.
My father was in senior management at Fords at the time and I suppose like most sons looking up to their fathers I wanted to emulate him and so wanted to get into management.
This provoked my next decision which was to leave Fords and join a retail company where rapid promotion saw me go from trainee manager to regional manager controlling 16 shops in just 3 years. Unfortunately the work load in reaching this status was too much as I had started a family and I needed to find a job that would let me work less hours.
It was at this point that I got involved in direct sales and spent 11 years selling financial service products in my home town. This involved talking to and meeting a lot of people from all walks of life from company directors to the unemployed and my times out in the field taught me well about people.
The single biggest lesson I learnt was that no matter what the job or business there are always those who are good at it and those who perform poorly.
It matters not what the role is, there are excellent bank managers and managers to whom I wouldn’t give my grandsons piggy bank! Good doctors and poor doctors who I wouldn’t trust to tend my cut finger.
As I have built up my internet business I have found people and companies that provide a great service and those that let you down.
My whole web business is founded on the Site Build It Product. I still believe to this day that I was very fortunate to come across it during my research to set up my online business. I know of no other product on the internet even today that delivers everything you could need in one package.
As my business has developed over the years I have been pleasantly surprised to find that Site Build It has grown with me, RSS Feeds, Web 2.0, Auto responders and all the tools anyone could want to build a professional looking site themselves. This is not a shameless plug ... it is that good. Fact.
Since then I have found and used Adwords and again was very fortunate to come across Perry Marshall who is without doubt in my mind the #1 'go to guy' for Google’s Pay Per Click and Adwords. Had it not been for Perry Marshall I would not have found the group of people who I now consider friends and with their support in developing marketing strategies I was able to take my online business to new levels using Site Build It as the foundation.
In fact it was a pleasant surprise for me to find that as they recommended setting up auto responders and similar technical systems they were already part of the Site Build It package and all I had to do was activate them!
There is so much available within the Site Build It package that I hadn't noticed they were there and only found them when I needed them. That's typical of Site Build It ... it over delivers and you don't know it's there until someone says you need it!
These days I have more fun and delegate a lot of the more of the tedious tasks so that I can pursue the areas that interest me more ... Pay Per Click!
Nothing thrills me more than getting my clicks on Google's Adwords for less money than the next guy because I took the trouble to learn and he didn't!
I genuinely hope you are lucky enough to find what you are looking for ... I did ... and now do my best to help others such as yourself to find the products and tools you need to be successful online.
P.S. I look at what I have written above and realize that it reads like an advertisement for Site Build It! It's not meant to be but when you have had the success I have had using the product, like someone with the best car they have ever owned wouldn't you brag about it?
